Getting there is a bit of an adventure, involving two different sets of elevators that let you explore the hotel's elegant public areas. As we sat down, a live jazz quartet was playing, much to the delight of the diverse crowd of locals and international visitors. The wait staff were incredibly efficient, gliding between tables and the open kitchen with choreographed precision.

At that moment, the prestigious chef Paul Gajewski (currently leading a luxurious restaurant in Dubai) and his brigade practiced their art in a spectacular open kitchen, drawing guests into the dining experience. The Wagyu olive-fed beef was a highlight, and the atmosphere was simply unbeatable.

What sets the New York Grill apart is its fame as the filming location of “Lost in Translation,” a cult classic directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. This adds an extra layer of charm and nostalgia to the dining experience.

All in all, the New York Bar & Grill at the Park Hyatt Tokyo is worth a visit for the ambiance alone. It’s the perfect spot to feel like you’re in the heart of a movie scene, high above the dazzling city lights. If you’re ever in Tokyo, make sure to reserve a table at the New York Grill for a culinary experience you’ll never forget. A must if you are in Tokyo.
