Sasshu Gyu (Sasshu Beef)
With Reverence for Nature and Love for Family, Raised with Care and Devotion
Feature 1: Rigorous Fattening Management
Sasshu Gyu is produced by farmers in the Satsuma, Minami Satsuma, and Osumi regions who are members of the Sasshu Beef Brand Association. These farmers prioritize delivering “deliciousness” as their core value. During the fattening stages, cattle are fed association-specified feed that adheres strictly to the following three standards:
1. Inclusion of Heat-Treated Soybeans
2. Exclusion of Animal-Based Ingredients
(e.g., meat-and-bone meal, fishmeal)
3. Exclusion of Growth Hormones
In addition to ensuring the health of the cattle, these measures are implemented with the safety and peace of mind of consumers in mind.
Farmers also maintain stringent management of cattle bedding, ensure proper ventilation in barns, and maintain an environment that allows the cattle to live comfortably and healthily.
High-Quality Fat Rich in Unsaturated Fatty Acids
The deliciousness of beef is largely influenced by the balance of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. Beef that is rich in unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid and oleic acid has a sweet, melt-in-your-mouth richness.
Sasshu Gyu is fed heat-treated soybeans rich in these unsaturated fatty acids, resulting in a tender and flavorful beef with a smooth and refined taste.
Sasshu Gyu combines meticulous care, high-quality feed, and a commitment to safety and flavor, offering a premium dining experience that reflects the devotion of its producers.
