In 1927, during the state funeral of Emperor Taishō, Hiroshima Wagyu was specially selected as the oxen to pull the ceremonial funeral carriage (jisha), a rare honor. This selection was made due to the cattle’s gentle nature, strength, endurance, and aesthetic appearance. Hiroshima Wagyu has also achieved notable success in the "National Wagyu Competitive Exhibition," often referred to as the 'Wagyu Olympics,' where it won the title of best in Japan for two consecutive years.
At the 4th National Wagyu Exhibition, a group of cattle from Hiroshima Wagyu was awarded the Prime Minister's Prize.
Starting with the conquest of the Chugoku region by Lord Motonari, Hiroshima Wagyu, considered the origin of modern wagyu, has preserved its noble lineage. The "Motonari" brand of wagyu proudly inherits the prestigious "Hiroshima lineage."
