Sendai Beef is a well-known brand of beef in Miyagi Prefecture, renowned for its high-quality meat, just like Wakayagi Beef. Due to the difficulty in maintaining the Wakayagi Beef brand, it will be unified under the Sendai Beef brand from fiscal year 2015. This unification of brands is the first since Nakata Beef in Tome City, and Sendai Beef will be the only branded beef in Miyagi Prefecture. While the name Wakayagi Beef will disappear, the excellent fattening techniques will be inherited, and the quality of Sendai Beef is expected to improve further.
