At Kootenai Springs Ranch in Western Montana we raise Full blood Wagyu on lush pasture with clean cool water. With an emphasis on the best genetics we intend on raising the finest breeding Wagyu available.

Breeding Animals

Our Cows

We have selected our breeding cows for excellent marbling, carcass quality, maternal traits and overall performance. We flush embryos from these excellent genetic carriers and utilize Angus recipient mothers to carry to term.

Our Bulls

We are using semen from the best bulls based on the performance data available. While we have utilized foundation bulls we are also integrating new genetics as more data is compiled in the United States.

We raise a small number of animals with the intention of producing the highest quality breeding Wagyu in the country. We have sourced our genetics from around the globe to find matings that we believe progress the Wagyu breed. It is important to expand the genetic pool of this breed in order to produce the finest females possible. It is the females that will prove to be the most important genetic carriers, and ultimately the Wagyu cows will lead the beef industry toward a higher quality, healthier product that will be universally recognized.
