Source of information & credits:
Herlocker Farms is an AWA member. However, there is no publicly available information confirming that they raise Wagyu cattle. Despite this, I included them in the list because of their AWA membership.
Since their member number is 5478, which is a recent registration, I assume they may be entering the Wagyu business (or perhaps they are already raising Wagyu, but it’s not visible online yet).
Farm fresh beef
Herlocker Farms was established in 1871 by L.D. Herlocker when he homesteaded in Farlington, KS. He bought the land from the railroad and his descendants still are ranching that same land he settled 150 years ago. It has had many diverse focuses over the years but currently is primarily a commercial cow/calf production consisting of Angus cross cattle ran by fourth generation Kansas farmer/rancher Ronnie Herlocker and his boys. His grandchildren would proudly be the 6th generation raised if this area. Recently Herlocker Farms has started offering hand fed butcher beefs in 1/4 1/2 and whole increments at the fairest price possible to be butchered at local butcher shops. Cattle are fed a mixture of grass and grain but then have a minimum of 90 day on full grain to create the marbling desired by most beef eaters in an effort to create the best product possible. Our current price is based on hang weight. For the calf it is $2.75 per pound hang weight. Hang weight ranges from 600-850# usually. Obviously the larger the hang weight the more product you will receive. Processing is paid directly to the butcher. Current processing in Moran, KS is .80 per pound also based on hang weight along with a small kill fee and tax. Please feel free to contact about availability of the farm fresh beef.
