About Us
Centered around a family-owned farm in the lush, northeast Georgia mountains, Godfrey Wagyu Ranch is committed to raising superlative, disorder-free Wagyu cattle and maintaining the genetics that make this breed so special. A member of the American Wagyu Association, we represent one of the few dedicated, registered full-blood Wagyu cattle farms in the United States and take our craft – and our customers – seriously.
How it Started
The founders of Godfrey Wagyu Ranch fell in love with Wagyu beef – and not just the flavor – a decade ago, and purchased their first cow in 2016. We recognized that this stellar breed offers the perfect avenue for breeding and founded our farm with the goal of more widely sharing the fine dining experience, flavor, and health benefits of Wagyu beef. We maintain that pursuit today.
One Reason: Better Beef.
There is one inarguable fact: Wagyu simply produces quality that we can stand behind – from beef to cattle. The genetic predisposition of this breed leads to a higher portion of intramuscular fat, one that creates an exquisite marbling that cannot be found in any other beef. This marbling improves flavor, tenderness, and juiciness, making for an exquisite dining experience. Meanwhile the breed offers high fertility rates and is amongst the easiest to raise.
Available Cows
Godfrey Wagyu Ranch’s mothering cows are the heart of our business. We put great care in selecting the cows that we choose to breed. They have helped us raise an impressive herd of Wagyu calves. And the beef produced from them is proven to meet the quality of marbling, tenderness and flavor expected of Wagyu.
Quality
Godfrey Wagyu Ranch emphasizes disorder-free, SCD-AA cattle. That means that our mothering cows pass these characteristics on throughout the herd.
GWR cows consist of 100% full-blood Wagyu that produce impressive pedigrees with preferred SCD designations, including superior marbling, fat composition, tenderness, and flavor.
Raised & Fed Here
Godfrey Wagyu Ranch cows are raised and fed right here on our farm in Northeast Georgia. They are never sent to feedlots. That means GWR controls the quality of their nutrition and carefully monitors their diverse diet of grasses and specially formulated feed and minerals.
Our care and attention to detail results in the high-quality characteristics that our mothering cows offer. And you can pass these characteristics on to your own herd.
Breeding
Wagyu cows are ideal for breeding herd because of their gentle nature.
Godfrey Wagyu Ranch offers 100% full-blood Wagyu cows that meet the high standards set by the American Wagyu Association.
