With the desire to create a familiar brand of Wagyu, much like Fukaya Negi, that anyone can choose, a group of volunteers formed the Fukaya Special Select Black Wagyu Promotion Council. In three farms within the city, they implement meticulous feeding management and use domestically produced rice straw and standardized feed. As a result, the beef from any of these farms is characterized by well-marbled meat with tender and easy-to-eat fat. Initially, the goal was to be handled by local stores and restaurants in Fukaya City and its surroundings, and it has been almost 30 years since it was listed on the Saitama Food Market. Today, it has become a popular brand of Wagyu, even in hometown tax donations.
